I get flattered every time I get an invite from an establishment to try their food. It shows that they trust my blog and that they see me as an influencer. A few weeks ago, I got an email from Karen and Loren, sisters behind Blushing Cupcakes, inviting me to visit their newest venture, a restaurant named K & L Café along White Plains, a few steps away from Pan de Amerikana. After two weeks, I finally got to visit the quaint café.
Hello, K & L Café!
The place is extremely adorable! It had a rustic and homey feel that I simply love. My eyes had a feast! J, the architect, noticed the super sweet sign Karen and Loren prepared for me. It sure made me feel so special! <3
While chatting with Karen and Loren, I found out that they both studied in St. Paul College, Pasig and University of Asia and the Pacific. They were my school mates in high school and college! Small world!
They recommended the following: Maple Caramel Latte(PHP105, hot | PHP125, cold), FamousStrawberry Calamansi(PHP95), Ultimate Red VelvetPancake(PHP295), Daddy’s Bourbon AmericanRibs (PHP295), Ilocos Bagnetwith TomatoSalsa (PHP265), and Apple, Brie and BaguioHoney sandwich (PHP227).
First served were our drinks. I didn’t get to try J’s drink as he didn’t offer. (Insert sad music here.)
But my drink was pretty good. I thought that it would be overly sweet but it wasn’t. It was like your usual caramel macchiato.
The bagnetand ribs arrived next and J couldn’t help drool over the ribs. I sensed it so I just took a bit of it and let him devour the rest.
The bagnetwas not as crispy as I wanted it to be but it was still delightful. The tomatosalsa added flavor and texture to the dish making it hard for me to stop.
I loved the ribs! It was so soft and flavorful. The dishwas served with sauce but we didn’t bother using it. It was already tasty as it is. J even whispered to me how good it was.
I also loved the sandwich which was pretty unique. The green apples gave crunch and its tanginess went well with the creaminess of the brieand the sweetness of the honey. It may not be your common sandwich but you have to try this one!
And if you love red velvet, then feast on K and L Café’s Ultimate Red VelvetPancake. I had a hard time figuring out if I was eating a pancake or a flat cupcake. It was dense, flavorful and oozing with cream cheese. It even had some chocolate chips inside! Yum!
I had such a lovely time that I had a hard time saying goodbye. But I will definitely visit again soon!
